Before the race
- Have your health checked by a doctor before the Uniper Düsseldorf Marathon.
During the run
- Make sure you drink enough fluids - adapted to the weather.
- Use our catering and refreshment points for carbohydrate intake and refreshment.
- If you stop at a station, please take care not to obstruct other runners.
- Wear clothing suitable for the weather - protect yourself from the sun and heat,forexample.
- First aid stations are available in the start and finish area as well as regularly along the route. They are marked with a green cross.
- At marathon kilometre 19 and 30.8 (or half marathon kilometre 9.7) your blood sugar can be checked by medical staff.
Behaviour on the course
- Please follow the instructions of the helpers and stewards - especially if the race is cancelled due to weather conditions.
- Please refrain from wearing headphones - your safety and socialising on the course take priority.
- Please do not use any electronic devices during the race.
- A "broom wagon" will drive behind the field of participants to take you safely to the finish if necessary.
If you are unable to take part in the Uniper Düsseldorf Marathon, you have the option of transferring your starting place to another person. The exchange of participant data is simply done via your registration confirmation.
Starting place transfers are possible free of charge until the registration deadline on 12 April 2026. After this date, a processing fee of €20.00 will be charged.
Re-registration
A change of registration from the marathon to the half marathon is possible free of charge.
When changing from the half marathon to the marathon (up-registration), the difference to the higher entry fee will be charged, plus a processing fee of €10.00.
Re-registrations are only possible until the registration deadline on 12 April 2026.
Re-registration is only possible if the participant limit for the desired distance has not yet been reached.
Late registration
On 15 April 2026 at 10:00 a.m., registration will open again for possible late registrations - these are possible up to and including the day of the event.
- The late registration fee is€25.00.
- Exceptions are the Kids Cups and the Bambini Cup - here the late registration fee does not apply.
- Please note: The start number is not personalised for all late registrations.
Cancellation
If the registration is cancelled by 31 December 2025, 50% of the entry fee will be refunded on presentation of a medical certificate.

Before the run
We recommend travelling by public transport.
With your race number, you can use all public transport in the Düsseldorf city area (price level A3) free of charge on the day of the event.
Please note: Only the underground lines run on the day of the Uniper Düsseldorf Marathon - all other lines are cancelled.

The starting documents can also be collected by another person.
This requires the QR code, which you will receive by email in advance.
On the back of your race number you will find your personal emergency assistance pass. Please fill it in legibly with a waterproof pen so that help can be provided quickly and specifically in an emergency.
The race number must be worn clearly visible on the chest - do not cover or fold it.
Important: The race number is personal and non-transferable.
On the day of the event, you have the opportunity to hand in your participant bag in the finish area for safekeeping. If you are running the marathon relay, we urgently request that only the 4th runner hands in the bag. The previous runners can hand over their bags in the transition zones during the changeover.
Please note: The clothing bags can only be handed in with the official participant bags, which will be handed out in advance.

TRACX (GPS) Live Tracking - Be tracked live!
Book TRACX (GPS) Live Tracking for €4.90 when you register and be tracked in real time on the app's digital map as you run - by family, friends or fans. There are two options:
Option 1: Live Tracking (without mobile phone)
- You don't need a smartphone during your run
- Your position is extrapolated using the timing mats (every 5km) and displayed on the digital map
Option 2: GPS Live Tracking (with mobile phone)
- Link your race number in the app
- Run with your smartphone
- Your exact position is displayed on the digital map via GPS
Important: If you do not book TRACX (GPS) Live Tracking, your loved ones will only find you in the run and results lists and not on the digital map!
During the run
Please observe the following rules to ensure a safe and fair course:
- No support vehicles: Cars, bicycles, motorbikes orsimilar are not permitted on the course.
- No rolling aids: Participation with pushchairs, roller skates, inline skates, skateboards or other rolling devices is prohibited.
- No animals on the course - as much as we love them.
- Headphone ban: According to the rules of the International Association of Athletics Federations (World Athletics / IAAF), the wearing of headphones is prohibited during competitions.
- Stay fair: Behave considerately towards other participants at all times.
Several timing points are set up on the route to record your split times accurately.

After the run
To ensure that everything runs smoothly at the finish, we ask you to do the following:
The finish line is reserved for the marathon and half marathon runners - this is where they celebrate their own personal moment.
The following applies to all relay teams: Only the 4th runner crosses the finish line and receives the medals on behalf of the entire team.
Please do not stop after crossing the finish line, but continue walking quickly so that there is no backlog behind you. This will help to ensure that all participants reach the finish line safely and smoothly.
Immediately after you cross the finish line, you continue step by step:
Medical sighting zone - here we make sure that you are feeling well.
Refreshment point - for the first thirst after the run.
Medal distribution - you will receive your well-deserved medal. As a relay runner, you will receive all four medals for your team.
👉 Please walk through this area quickly and without lingering so that there are no backlogs and everyone arrives safely.
